Disclaimer & terms of use

This website carries factual information about the practice of Pushya Mithra, advocate. Please read this notice before relying on anything published here.

Bar Council of India: no advertisement or solicitation

Rule 36 of the Bar Council of India Rules (Chapter II, Part VI, Section IV) prohibits an advocate from soliciting work or advertising, directly or indirectly. The proviso introduced in 2008 permits an advocate to furnish, on a website, factual particulars including name, address and contact details, enrolment particulars, professional and academic qualifications, and the areas in which the advocate practises.

This website is published within those limits. Accordingly:

Not legal advice

The content of this website, including the notes published under Insights, is general information about the law. It is not legal advice, it does not take account of the facts of any particular matter, and it must not be treated as a substitute for advice from a qualified advocate on those facts.

Law, procedure and prescribed time limits change. Each note records the date on which it was last reviewed; the position may have altered since. Nothing here should be relied on without confirming that it remains current and applies to the situation at hand.

No advocate-client relationship

Reading this website, sending a message through the enquiry form, or writing or telephoning using the details published here does not by itself create an advocate-client relationship. A relationship arises only when the engagement is accepted in writing after conflicts have been checked and scope and fees have been agreed.

Until that point, communications may not attract the protection given to professional communications under section 132 of the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023. Please do not send confidential or sensitive material in a first message.

Information you send

This website does not run analytics, does not set cookies, and does not host a form that transmits data to any server. The enquiry form on the contact page composes a message in your own email application; nothing is submitted to or stored by this website.

One item is stored in your browser: a single value recording that you have seen the notice shown on your first visit, so that it is not shown again. It stays on your device, is not transmitted anywhere, and is removed if you clear your browser's site data.

Correspondence sent to the published email address or telephone number is received directly by the practice and is treated as confidential to the extent the law permits.
